There are few places as charming and timeless as Carnton House in Franklin, Tennessee, and it was the perfect backdrop for Emily and David’s engagement session. The afternoon could not have been more beautiful. There was soft light, gorgeous scenery, and a couple who made every moment feel fun and joyful. As a Franklin,TN engagement photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better combination.

Emily and David were incredible to work with. Their laughter was contagious, and their easygoing personalities made the entire session flow naturally. They shared stories, snuck little glances at each other, and truly soaked in the experience. The Carnton’s historic architecture, sprawling fields, and stunning gardens set the stage for photographs that reflect their love story perfectly: timeless, genuine, and full of warmth.

Their Love Story

Emily and David’s story began in a way that still makes them laugh. They met as freshmen in high school at a district-wide choir concert. Living an hour and a half apart didn’t stop them from building countless memories through late-night FaceTimes, shared laughter, and prayers for a relationship that would honor God and last a lifetime. What Emily didn’t know then was that while she was praying for her future husband, David was praying for her, too.

Now, after 5 ½ years together, they’re preparing to say “I do” to their answered prayers.

The Proposal

David’s proposal was nothing short of magical. He chose the gardens at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina and of course, she said yes! On their wedding day, Emily and David are most excited to walk down the aisle, see each other for the first time, and begin their forever as one. Their excitement is contagious, and I have no doubt their wedding will be every bit as joyful and heartfelt as their love story.
