Taylor & Dan | A Dreamy Summer Wedding at Creekside at Colliers End
Real Wedding Feature | Huntsville, Alabama | Rachel Key Photography
There are wedding days that are beautiful. And then there are wedding days that are magic. Taylor and Dan’s day at Creekside at Colliers End in Huntsville, Alabama was absolutely the latter. From the moment I arrived to the very last white streamer of their send-off, this wedding was filled with joy, laughter, the most stunning details, and two people who are just so clearly made for each other. As a Huntsville, Alabama wedding photographer, I get to witness some truly special love stories and this one is going straight into my favorites.
Getting Ready
Taylor got ready surrounded by her girls, and from the very first moment of the morning, the energy in that room was everything. There is truly nothing like watching a bride get ready with the people who love her most and Taylor’s bridal party brought all the sweetness, all the laughter, and all the happy chaos that makes for the best getting-ready photos. The girls wore the cutest floral pajamas while they got and popped champagne to kick off the morning. Taylor’s bridesmaids were absolutely wonderful. Helpful, joyful, and so genuinely excited for her. You could feel how much they love her in every single moment, and Taylor soaked up every second of it. Taylor shared some sweet moments with her adorable mom, Kels, while she put her dress on and got ready for the day.

The Details: A Color Palette That Was Absolute Perfection
Can we talk about the design of this wedding for a moment? Taylor and Dan’s wedding palette was a gorgeous mix of pinks, blues, yellows, and lush greenery, and the way it all came together throughout the venue was stunning. It felt joyful and romantic all at once, like a garden party that had been elevated into something truly special. Every single design choice felt intentional and cohesive, and the result was a wedding that felt completely and uniquely theirs.

The Ceremony: Emotional, Intentional & Full of Love

The Classic Car: A Detail That Stole the Show
Among all the stunning details of the day, one that genuinely surprised and delighted me was the classic car. A gorgeous vintage vehicle belonging to a friend of Taylor’s dad was parked on the property — and it became one of the most stunning backdrops of the entire day. Dan got some absolutely incredible portraits by the car. And Taylor? She looked like she had stepped straight off a magazine cover. The combination of her stunning look, the gorgeous florals she was holding, and that classic car behind her made for some of my absolute favorite images of the entire wedding day.

J-Money & Morgan’s Speeches
Taylor’s dad, affectionately known to everyone as J-Money, is the kind of person whose energy fills a room the moment he walks in. Fun, warm, and completely devoted to his daughter, his speech was everything. He had the whole room laughing one moment and reaching for tissues the next. I’ll be honest, I was not immune. His words about Taylor were so full of love and pride that they genuinely brought tears to my eyes, and that doesn’t happen to me easily. Taylor’s sister Morgan gave a speech that was equally as beautiful, sweet, personal, and so clearly coming from a place of deep love and sisterhood. The kind of speech that reminds everyone in the room why these moments matter so much. Between J-Money and Morgan, the speeches at this wedding were some of the most touching I’ve witnessed in my entire career as a Huntsville wedding photographer.

The Reception: Dancing, Rapping & Pure Joy
If the ceremony was heartfelt and emotional, the reception was an absolute BLAST and I mean that in the best possible way. Epic DJ brought the energy from the very first song and never let it drop for a single second. The dance floor was packed all night, the transitions were flawless, and the crowd was completely into it from start to finish. A great DJ makes such a difference at a reception. They’re the ones who keep the party alive and make sure every single guest has the time of their life. Epic DJ did exactly that.
The Moment Dan Rapped And The Crowd Went Wild
And then there was THE moment. The moment that had every single guest in the room absolutely losing their minds in the best way possible. Dan, the groom, grabbed the mic and started rapping. I am not exaggerating when I say the crowd went absolutely crazy. Guests were screaming, dancing, laughing, and completely beside themselves with joy. It was spontaneous, it was hilarious, it was genuinely impressive, and it was so perfectly, authentically DAN. This is the kind of moment you can’t plan. The kind of moment that just happens when the right people are in the right room with the right energy. And it is absolutely the kind of moment I live to photograph.

The Send-Off
I have photographed countless wedding send-offs. Sparklers, bubbles, flower petals, ribbon wands, I’ve seen them all. But Taylor and Dan’s send-off? That was a first for me, and I am completely obsessed. White streamers. Everywhere. Guests lined up with rolls of white streamers and let them fly as Taylor and Dan made their grand exit. The result was this gorgeous, chaotic, joyful explosion of white streamers flying through the air, wrapping around the couple. Was it a little messy? Absolutely. Was it completely and totally perfect? One hundred percent yes.
